What makes a valid sick note?
A legal medical certificate in South Africa must include:

Is an online sick note valid in South Africa?
A medical certificate issued after a proper consultation by an HPCSA-registered doctor can be used in South Africa when it contains the required details. Your employer may verify it with the issuing practice.
What do I need for a sick note?
You'll need your employee ID or details about why you need to be off work, and an honest assessment from the doctor about whether you're unfit.
